About the role: 4 days in the office, Mississauga.

We are currently seeking a Claims Specialist.  The Claims Specialist will be responsible for the investigating and processing of claim closures for logistics carrier and warehouse claims. The position will liaise directly with Finance, Sales, Supply Chain Management and 3rd Party Logistics partners, and the Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) as required. The role is responsible for a high-level understanding and control of Logistics claims processes across different divisions, products and customer fulfillment directives. Responsible for the Claims process including Standard Operating Procedures implementation, aging claim closure, tracking and disputes.

 

What you’re responsible for:

  • Assessing and authorizing the completion of Logistics claim closure tasks and final system entries
  • Key authority for claim closure processes and reconciling outstanding balances with Finance
  • Support month- end responsibility to close aged or outstanding items
  • Work with management to identify and outline cost savings projects in relation to claims
  • Update and manage claim logs / reports as necessary
  • Creating carrier claims, e-commerce claims and / or warehouse claims as needed
  • Adhoc activities as required

Knowledge:

  • SAP / ERP competency required
  • Advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) required
  • Logistics transportation law, understandings required
  • Data retrieval and manipulation experience with demonstrable, verifiable output and report creation

  • 2-3+ years Logistics Claim Management inclusive of document verification process and claims processes
  • Strong Consumer Goods market familiarity in Canada.
