The Position:

We are currently seeking a Manager, Corporate Communications and Citizenship. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications & Citizenship, this role requires close collaboration with the leadership team, People Team, Legal, Corporate Marketing SMEs, divisional brand teams, retail, and dotcom to integrate internal and external communications strategies aligned with broader Samsung marketing and business goals. The role also supports PR agency relationships and maintains strong alignment with U.S. and Global corporate citizenship and communications teams, contributing to best-in-class strategy and programming.

The role will contribute to and execute national media and reputation-building strategies, enhancing Samsung’s position as a leading and trusted brand in Canada. This role is responsible for owning the day-to-day and executing a diverse portfolio of communications initiatives aimed at increasing the profile and positive sentiment towards our brand, products, and solutions. This includes supporting communications strategy and planning, corporate reputation building, press and consumer engagement, product and business announcements, media monitoring, and performance measurement and reporting. The candidate is a strategic thinker, brand ambassador, planner and writer, and driven to deliver data driven results through exceptional execution.

 

What you’re responsible for:

 

Corporate Communications:

  • Develop and implement strategic communications plans and initiatives in collaboration with marketing teams across Mobile, Consumer Electronics, Networks, Corporate, and Enterprise businesses.
  • Work closely with global PR and marketing teams to identify key media targets, and support measurable strategies across Corporate PR and Brand PR activities, including reviewer program.
  • Assist in building strategies to grow and protect Samsung Canada’s reputation and overall industry/consumer sentiment through insightful communications plans.
  • Lead day-to-day newsroom management including content review, press releases in collaboration with global PR teams, cross-divisional teams and legal.
  • Manage and work closely with PR agencies to ensure campaigns are executed on time, on budget, and in adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate as a partner on opportunities related to corporate citizenship – to generate strong media coverage and positive sentiment.
  • Manage, analyze and report on all PR-related KPIs, including those leveraged by agency partners or adopted by Samsung internally in collaboration with global teams.
  • Provide support and execution for corporate communications initiatives to the Senior Manager, Senior Director and Senior Leadership team.
  • Support in risk management including issues management, key messaging, and crisis communications for the organization.

 

Internal Communications:

  • Execute and support corporate internal communications programs and initiatives including but not limited to executive communications, Town Halls, employee newsletters, employee meetings, employee giving/volunteerism, and key internal stakeholder activities.
  • Develop key executive communications, including key messages, social media posts, scripts, internal memos and organizational announcements.      
  • Lead the execution for Samsung Town Halls – planning, logistics, executive briefings, presentation development, writing, etc.                                                                   
  • Contribute to developing key internal messages and support the implementation of strategic internal communication plans that support core organizational priorities and internal stakeholder initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with HR to implement joint employee engagement plans.
  • Review and manage cross-functional communications as required.

 

Corporate Citizenship:

  • Lead and execute CSR-based communications programs including Solve for Tomorrow programming to drive awareness of Samsung’s CSR initiatives, enhancing brand reputation.
  • Support the national citizenship strategy, assisting with the execution of related marketing campaign initiatives externally and internally to drive positive reputation with employees and consumers.
  • Collaborate with Samsung NAHQ and HQ counterparts regarding SECA’s position within the global organizational corporate social responsibility strategy, budgets, and reporting.
  • Support the management of SECA’s Citizenship budget, including with agencies, charitable partners, vendors, and corporate contributions.
