Reporting to the Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics, the Sales Compensation Manager will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing effective and competitive sales incentive programs that align with business goals and drive performance. This role is responsible for developing commission and bonus structures, calculating payouts based on performance to targets, and handling inquiries and disputes related to compensation. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of analytical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong stakeholder communication skills.

What you’ll do:

12-month contract -- Mississauga 

Compensation Administration & Analysis:

  • Own end-to-end commission and bonus calculation processes across all programs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate incentive payouts, based on validated performance data and target attainment.
  • Maintain robust documentation and audit trails of all compensation calculations and changes.

 Program Design & Strategy:

  • Develop and maintain scalable compensation plans (commission, bonus, SPIFFs) aligned with company sales strategies and goals.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and HR leaders to ensure incentive programs drive the right behaviors and outcomes.
  • Evaluate plan effectiveness regularly and recommend improvements based on performance trends, market benchmarks, and business feedback.

Communication & Stakeholder Support:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for sales reps and managers regarding compensation plans and payout inquiries.
  • Investigate and resolve disputes or discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide clear, user-friendly compensation reports and summaries to sales leaders and individual contributors.
  • Monitor tickets and inquiries for patterns and proactively resolve systemic issues

 Governance & Continuous Improvement:

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to compensation practices.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to streamline incentive calculation and reporting.
  • Partner with IT, BI, and Data teams to ensure compensation systems and data sources are accurate and well-integrated.
  • Ownership of the accuracy and efficiency of compensation related reporting and dashboards, and payroll workflows

 Team Leadership and Development 

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of compensation analysts
  • Set clear goals and expectations, manage performance, and support ongoing skills development.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement within the compensation team

What you’ve done

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, HR, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales compensation, sales operations, or financial analysis roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in relevant tools, such as BI platforms (Power BI, Domo, Tableau, etc.) and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with sales, finance, and executive leadership.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Experience in a high-growth or performance driven sales environment a plus
  • Experience with retail businesses a plus
